Port Townsend Centrum Foundation Makes Announcement in Support of Discrimination, Exclusion, Bullying, Gaslighting, Abuse of Trauma Victims and Directly against the Rights of ALL Women.

The Port Townsend CENTRUM Foundation has Spoken Out in support of the YMCA's Discriminating Decision to Ban an 80 year old Port Townsend Woman from the YMCA. Surprise Surprise.

Centrum is Not Supporting LGBTQIA+. Centrum is Supporting ONLY Trans Women’s rights by applauding the YMCA’s cruel, discriminating, bullying actions.

Centrum says they support individual rights, well not the 80 year old woman in this story, and with the proclamation by the city, well all those letters lost their rights and so did straight women, fathers, mothers and more.

HERE IS WHAT CENTRUM Said on their Facebook Page

“At Centrum, we affirm the right of every person to live as their fully authentic self. We value and celebrate the diverse identities – including the full spectrum of gender expression – that make vibrant connections and creativity flourish at Centrum and around the world.

We applaud the YMCA for standing strong by their employee and her rights. We appreciate her for providing childcare for our kids, a scarce resource for many in the community.

To the LGBTQIA+ community and allies in Port Townsend and beyond, and to everyone working for equity and justice, we are with you.
#porttownsend #lgbtqia #lgbtqarts #equality #equity #transrightsarehumanrights #ymca”"

Here is What I have to Say about that:

Hey Centrum, and the YMCA, this LGBTQIA+ community member and my allies are NOT WITH YOU. We stand for PRIDE values of EQUALITY for ALL. And not just rights “especially” for some.

I am a Port Townsend Lesbian and I say it was not right what the YMCA did. We fought our entire life with the PRIDE movement for Equality. You post the Rainbow and LGBTQIA+ support, yet I am the L in this and I do not have equal rights. Even if I chose to not go to the YMCA, the City of Port Townsend has agreed, so no safe place for a Lesbian Woman's Rights.

The Port Townsend Centrum Foundation Uses Hashtags #equality #equity and yet there was NO equality or equity in what happened at the YMCA.

The Port Townsend Centrum Foundation Uses the Hashtag #transrightsarehumanrights, yes Centrum they are and so are Julie Jaman's rights Human Rights. Lesbian Rights are Human Rights. Women' Rights are Human Rights. Girls Rights are Human Rights. Fathers Rights are Human Rights. Mothers Rights are Human Rights. HUMAN RIGHTS FOR ALL may have been a better hashtag.

As a born biological woman, if that was me in the shower or coming out of the shower and I asked a trans woman with all their parts to leave my area, I would feel they should have left. Why would anyone, in that situation not honor the wishes of the naked woman coming out of the shower and leave the area?

The YMCA Treated Julie Jaman cruelly, they should have been kind, compassionate and provided non discriminating safety, support and comfort for ALL parties and not just the Trans Woman.

What the YMCA did is not what PRIDE Stands for.

Pride is Equality for ALL and not to give trans women more rights than women born as women, Biological Women.

PRIDE is about EQUAL Rights. What the YMCA did was NOT about Pride values Period.

This Incident at the YMCA had NOTHING TO DO WITH TRANS DISCRIMINATION. Keeping in mind the 80 year old woman did not know who was outside the shower. She was naked in the shower and heard a man's voice outside the shower. Her initial reaction was to a man's voice, sight unseen.

To me this Issue is about Equal Rights for ALL. Equal Rights for Personal Boundaries, the Right to Say No and not being forced into traumatic situations for ALL parties, and for our intuition to be heard and talked through.

The YMCA should have been ready for this, it was obviously going to happen. The YMCA acted badly period and put people in danger unnecessarily.

Centrum Says “we affirm the right of every person to live as their fully authentic self”. This is clearly a flat out lie aligning with the City and the YMCA and directly against “every” person in this issue living their authentic self. They are saying that ONLY trans women get to live “their authentic self”, get to be protected, feel safe, be heard and comforted, be protected from abuse. Just look online the Trans Women are bullying strait women, feminists, trans men, and lesbians in mass.

Centrum Says “We value and celebrate the diverse identities – including the full spectrum of gender expression” This is not true, they support the YMCA who clearly discriminated against Julie based on her diverse identity, and her gender expression. We fought for Equal Rights and so why are so many supporting this clear discrimination?

When Centrum says they “celebrate the diverse identities” they seem to mean Except Strait People, Woman born Woman, Rape Survivors, Sexual Assault Survivors, Childhood Abuse Survivors, Lesbians, Domestic Violence Victims and other “diverse identities” in the full spectrum of Equal Rights.

So Centrum STOP with your shenanigans of claims of supporting LGBTQIA+ with applauding the YMCA.  Do you even know what all those letters stand for? I am a Lesbian Woman I am not some giant acronym I had no part of choosing. You don’t support me.

With these statements Centrum is in support of the Trans women who bully us, yell at us, taunt us, be near us naked even if we ask them to leave, force us to have them in our spaces, abuse us as lesbians online if we want to date same sex partners which is the point of being a lesbian.

If we are scared or uncomfortable at the YMCA we are gaslighted, bullied, defamed, hurled hate at and thrown out. All for speaking our truth, exercising our right to our sexual orientation be it straight or gay.

WE have a right to not want to be in a bathroom that is not same sex (born biology), a right to say NO to someone being near us while we are naked and a right to our intuition and if its wrong, be kind to the 80 year old. Give her equal dignity, listen to her side, respect and rights. The YMCA was Cruel, did not respect both sides and their actions have NOTHING to do with the behavior we fought decades and decades for with PRIDE.

Pride is ABOUT EQUALITY FOR ALL. All Means All.

LGBT Pride is the promotion of self-affirmation, dignity, and equality. We are now a community that has equal rights under the law so why force ourselves onto those with different beliefs, trauma, wants and needs, or fears? How is that ok? To me it is not ok.

Pride was a chosen word for a reason, as opposed to shame and social stigma, this was the LGBT rights movement, we finally won equal rights and now we lose them to men again and you support this? It is not ok for our community to now shame others and put social stigma onto them?

Why not want EQUALITY for ALL Community Members Centrum?

We as Gays and Lesbians have Equal Rights now as a matter of Law. And Same Sex Marriage is legal now. Why do we have to now take away the rights of others? Why are we again losing our rights to outspoken, aggressive, entitled men? That is not the point of PRIDE.

If you stand with the YMCA decision of INEQUALITY then you in NO WAY support the LGBTQIA+ Community. That is not our values, my value nor the thousands of Lesbians I have met over decades. I am sure many LGBTQIA+ Community members will stand with you, simply wanted you to know you don’t actually support us all.

No one should have something forced on them that traumatizes them. Both sides, not just one side. There has to be a better way than simply banning  straight 80 year old ladies who want equal rights, or voice a fear or safety issue.

Can’t the YMCA communicate instead of bullying and ban? Perhaps you need better leaders. Ones who will provide safety, dignity, respect equally for all sides. A leader who would have easily calmed that situation such as I would have.

The YMCA staff was clearly mean to Julie Jaman in the least, they discriminated against Julie’s rights, her sexual orientation, her sex, her age, and human rights period.

The YMCA did not act in a professional manner, period. Someone like me would have made both sides feel heard, and given action steps moving forward with strength and dignity that supported BOTH sides and NOT just ONE side. The YMCA blew this issue up by not treating both sides of this traumatic incident equal, Period.

Would Centrum be ok if I identify as a man and shower with the men there? Would these same council members and Centrum spokespeople be ok if this happened to them? Man or Woman. Trans Man or Trans Woman. Think about it. What would you want to have happened to you? How would you have wanted to be treated if you did not want me seeing you naked coming out of the shower?

The YMCA’s actions were not OK, and nothing to do with Equal Rights, PRIDE or “the right of every person to live as their fully authentic self”, which Centrum disingenuously proclaimed.

Centrum are you looking at this issue from any side but politics?

It is NOT ok what the YMCA did nor what the City of Port Townsend did after, they made RIGHTS “especially” for trans women, as trans men don’t act like this so no issue there. And by act like this I mean want to be seen in the locker room, want to force us to see them in a locker room when we are naked, not walk away when asked to leave personal space, run over boundaries,  force themselves on people who don’t want them there when they are naked.

Many Lesbians and Bisexuals in your (LGBTQIA+) have had sexual child abuse, have been victims of sexual assault and or domestic violence where an unexpected deep voice or naked man or man near them naked is traumatic. There are women who are lesbians because of rape or abuse from a man. You are saying we have no equal rights to safety, protection?

Victims of Child Abuse may trigger at a man with children. Is the YMCA answer to bully, berate and ban them or calm them, talk it through and provide a feeling of safety? There was NO professionalism, no nurturing, no love, no dignity and respect for all sides. The YMCA did not act appropriately and is on the wrong side of the moral compass. The YMCA has viciously divided our community unnecessarily.

                                              #forsome

The YMCA decision means that if we feel off for any reason, if our intuition says something is off or there is danger and we try and tell them about it, they will gaslight us, call us transphobes, call us bigots, they will ban us, then bully us, get others to bully us and call us all manner of hateful untrue names. If Julie was wrong about her intuition then bully her? Berate her? Ban her? Why not sit down and talk about it? Why not show some compassion for women, for older women who may not understand 2022 talking points? Why not dignity and compassion for BOTH sides?

The YMCA Decision means for men and women that if there is a Trans Woman or Trans Man near them in the locker room when they are naked they, YOU, have no right to ask them or demand they leave your space. Your Boundaries and Discomfort simply do not matter or exist. And if you sense danger or are scared you will be gaslighted, called crazy, called transphobic bigots, called hateful and banished.  They call this PRIDE, they call this Dignity and Equality for all. It is NOTHING to do with the Values of the Origins of PRIDE.

"The YMCA, citing its ‘Christian’ values, bans an elderly woman who objected after discovering a man in the women’s locker room"

“This is what transgender activists want across the country. Transgenders and their ‘allies’ are sending a clear message to women that they don’t matter. They want elderly women and young girls to be forced to undress in front of males who only need claim that they identify as female.”

An 80-year-old woman who demanded that a biological male identifying as a female leave the locker room after catching him watching as young girls changed out of their swimsuits has been banned from the YMCA; she was later shouted down and harassed by transgender activists during a protest.

Quick Facts

  • Julie Jaman, an 80-year-old woman, was banned from her local YMCA after demanding that a transgender leave the locker room.

  • The YMCA claims that Jaman was being discriminatory.
  • The transgender, a biological male, is an employee who only started identifying as female this past March.

  • While speaking at a protest against the YMCA’s policy, Jaman was shouted down by transgender activists.

Last month Julie Jaman was banned from her local YMCA. Jaman, of Port Townsend, Washington, had been a member of the Mountain Valley YMCA for 35 years, until the dispute over transgenders in a woman’s only space arose.

Jaman says she was showering in the locker room when she heard a male voice. She saw an adult male wearing a women’s swimsuit standing near the shower. She claimed he was watching young girls as they changed. Jaman said, “I asked if he had a penis and he said it was none of my business. That’s when I told him, ‘Get out right now.’”

She went to the YMCA’s aquatics manager, Rowen DeLuna, and demanded that the man be removed. Jaman claims that DeLuna told her that she was discriminating. DeLuna not only banned Jaman from using the pool but called the police.

Jaman says that DeLuna told her, “You have not abided by our principles and values,” referring to the “C” in YMCA standing for “Christian.” Jaman claims that the staff then would not let her leave.

“There was no concern for what I was experiencing,” Jaman said of the staff.

The transgender in question, who calls himself Clementine Adams, is apparently an employee. He first announced that he identifies as female on Facebook in March 2022. In his job as a day camp staff member at the Y, he is tasked with escorting girls to the bathroom and other private facilities and assisting them. Jaman said Adams, dressed in a ladies’ swimsuit, wore no badge identifying him as an employee.

The YMCA released its take on the incident by saying:

“On July 26, one of our YMCA day camp staff members accompanied 2 girls to the restroom facilities in the women’s locker room in a supervision role. At the Y, we have a ‘rule of 3’ where staff always accompany children in a group of 3 so a staff person is never alone with a child and children are never alone with each other. The Y staff member and one girl were standing outside the restroom stall while the other girl was using the restroom when the patron expressed her concerns in a disrespectful manner toward the staff person, which violates the Y’s Code of Conduct.”

The YMCA’s Code of Conduct states that all members agree to provide “an atmosphere free of discrimination, hatred, derogatory or unwelcome comments, intimidation, conduct or actions based on an individual’s sex, race, ethnicity, age, religion, disability, sexual orientation, or any other legally protected status.” It also states that the Y will not tolerate disrespectful words or gestures towards YMCA staff or others.

According to the YMCA, the pool aquatics manager “informed the patron that she had violated the Y’s Code of Conduct due to her disrespectful behavior toward the staff member and that she needed to leave the facility.”

The facility claims that she refused to leave before the police were called.

Erin Hawkins, the marketing and communications manager for the Olympic Peninsula YMCA, says that Jaman’s ban wasn’t just because of the incident with the transgender employee.

“Julie Jaman was permanently suspended from the Mountain View Pool due to her repeatedly violating our Code of Conduct, specifically, using disrespectful words or gestures toward YMCA staff or others; abusive, harassing, and/or obscene language or gestures toward YMCA staff or others,” she said.

The YMCA and its facilities, including the locker room, feature Gay Pride flags and signs. Jaman says that a YMCA official told her that these symbols effectively communicated that the organization welcomes all people into all private spaces.

Jaman said it’s not enough. She later wrote the Port Townsend City Council, stating, “The YMCA should immediately post clear signage indicating the existing dressing/shower rooms will be used by the opposite sex who gender identify differently. Also, all parents who send their children to YMCA programs should be informed that men who identify as women are allowed to accompany little girls into the dressing and bathroom areas.”

This week Jaman spoke at a RevFoxxUSA event. RevFoxxUSA, a feminist group, defines itself as “a non-partisan, non-religious collective of like-minded adults advocating for the safeguarding of women & children, observing objective reality in solidarity, and countering the narrative of the gender lobby in the United States.”

As Jaman attempted to speak about her experience, transgender advocates shouted at her and rushed the stage. Amy Sousa, who organized the event and is also a founding member of RevFoxxUSAsaid, “All kinds of men were assaulting us and crawling between our legs. They continued to move in on us closer and closer until we were pinned against the wall. They were touching us and stealing our things, trying to turn off our sounds, trying to disrupt our equipment.”

She added, “We were forced to engage with them because we had to try to get back our things. It was incredibly overwhelming.”

The group had been told there would be police protection. Jaman pleaded with police to get involved as the pro-transgender activists drowned her out."

In October of 2015 the YMCA changed it’s transgender policy, I guess complaints worked back in those days. Port Townsend YMCA Trans woman Issue August 2022.

Here is the "My Northwest" Article from 2015.

Now they claim to follow “state law” but for both parties? Or just the trans individual?

“YMCA explains changing its transgender policy after more than 1,000 complaints”

Following complaints from the public, Bob Ecklund, President and CEO of the YMCA of Pierce and Kitsap county, issued a statement on Oct. 5 saying the organization is modifying the policy for transgender individuals in locker rooms and restrooms in “family facilities.” Ecklund said the change was to ensure youth are not exposed to the opposite sex in their locker room.

Ecklund said the new policy states that “transgender members in transition will use private locker rooms for dressing and showering. Transgender members may use standalone restrooms that align with their gender identification.” The change applies to: Gordon Family YMCA, Mel Korum Family YMCA, Lakewood Family YMCA, Morgan Family YMCA, Tom Taylor Family YMCA, Bremerton Family YMCA, Haselwood Family YMCA.

For locker rooms at “adult facilities,” transgender members may use locker rooms and restrooms that align with their gender identification. That applies to Tacoma Center YMCA and University Y Student Center.

“We understand transgender individuals who are in transition often face a dilemma on where to change and shower, and the Y strives to be a place to be safe and inclusive of everyone in our care,” Ecklund wrote.

“I want to emphasize this narrow revision of the policy is focused on dressing and showering spaces only, as they are the most sensitive spaces in our facility, especially as it relates to children.”

Michelle Larue, Senior Vice President of Marketing with the Pierce and Kitsap YMCA, told KTTH’s Todd Herman on Wednesday that there had previously been no policy for the “fairly low” number of transgender members, some who had been with the YMCA for 10 or more years, and that there have been no incidents of inappropriate exposure or use since the initial policy change in April.

Larue said the YMCA received “quite a reaction” since the policy went public, receiving more than 1,000 comments on the issue. Larue said they didn’t broadly inform the public about the initial policy change out of respect to the transgender individuals and that the intent was not to keep anyone in the dark.

“We didn’t have any reason we felt to inform the masses about this change when there was seemingly no effect on the way that we were operating or using our locker rooms,” she said. “I can tell you today, we’ve heard that concern loud and clear and we apologize if we misled or made any members feel like they were in the dark. That was not our intent by any means and today we are communicating broadly on Facebook and through email, and here, as much as we can.

“The number of people our transgender members was so small, and we had not had any incidents, nor have we since, of inappropriate use or overt exposure in our locker rooms, we just didn’t feel it was necessary to broadcast at that time. And again we are communicating now and making sure our members know our policies and locker room practices based on their feedback.”

Herman said he understood both perspectives on the issue, but asked Larue, “Father to mother, Michelle, should a 15-year-old girl feel OK with the possibility that she might shower next to someone who is biologically male?”

“As you’ve heard from our members, just as we’ve heard, they are all over the spectrum, right?” Larue responded. “Everyone has a different opinion on that. And so that is an individual family decision and we respect their decisions.”

YMCA’s attorney, Sal Mungia, told Herman a sign explaining the policy would likely be placed on the locker rooms at the adult facilities. He said the wordage would be decided “very carefully.”

“This is such a hard subject to be able to put down succinctly,” he said. “It’s a sign, right – you can’t have a bunch of fine print and to get the message across quickly and accurately. So this policy just went into effect, I think it’s going to take some time to figure out a way to convey that message so people can understand it very quickly.”

Ecklund noted in his release that as a nonprofit in Washington State, YMCAs are both “employers” and “places of public accommodation,” and that they are required to comply with all laws regulating employers and places of public accommodations.

“Washington State recognizes transgender rights and prohibits discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation, which includes gender identity,” Ecklund wrote. “We believe we are both following the law and accommodating our diverse groups of members. We also note this is an evolving area of the law, and we will continue to stay tuned to updates from Washington State.”

ORIGINAL STORY

A policy instituted by the YMCA of Pierce and Kitsap counties has one mom worried about her children’s safety.

KTTH’s Todd Herman spoke with Jill, a mother and volunteer at YMCA of Pierce and Kitsap Counties, about the policy enacted in April that gives transgender individuals the ability to choose the locker room he or she feels most comfortable with, no questions asked.

Jill said that her concerns are not an attack on transgender people, but more a criticism of the policy itself, which was never announced to the public or employees. She said the policy allows anybody to walk into either bathroom, which puts children at danger.

“Anybody who might want to go in there, (employees) can’t ask them, they can’t tell them no,” she said. “So any man can say, hey, I’m transgender’ and go in that way.”

“The employees didn’t know about this,” she added. “The public doesn’t know about it. YMCA doesn’t plan to inform the membership or potential members.”

Herman also said he spoke with Michelle Larue, Senior Vice President of Marketing with the Pierce and Kitsap YMCA, who told him that the organization has spent a lot of time speaking about ways to better accommodate the transgender community. A public forum on the issue was held Sunday; an attendee told Herman that approximately 50 people showed up.

Herman said some parents are asking that a written notice be placed at the locker room that informs people that they might encounter people of the opposite gender in the bathroom. He said the YMCA’s response has only been that the organization is committed to inclusion and diversity.

Jill believes the new policy also contradicts portions of the YMCA’s child abuse prevention training, most notably that abuse is more likely to happen if somebody who wants to do harm to children is given access and privacy, and that anywhere a child is scantily clothed or naked e.g. pool or locker room facilities &#8212 the chance of sexual abuse increases. She added that it’s not only children who might feel uncomfortable.

“You cannot blend in when you are not anatomically correct in the opposite sex locker room,” she said. “This is not possible … Do you want an anatomically correct man showering with your wife or daughter? Or how about an anatomically correct female showering with your teenage son?”

“In my opinion, seeing a naked man in my locker room is sexual harassment for me,” she said. “That’s the way I feel about it. This isn’t specifically singling out transgenders, it’s singling out the policy that would allow anybody who wants to abuse it to be in there.”

Michelle Douglas, Executive Director at the Rainbow Center, an LGBTQA community center in Tacoma, said she hadn’t seen the YMCA’s policy and wouldn’t speculate on its implications. She said the Rainbow Center is unequivocal about its stance that people should be free to use the restroom or locker room that they identify with. She said Washington State nondiscrimination laws are not new and that some organizations have moved faster to make updates than others. She said the Rainbow Center still hears a lot of “misguided concerns” about this topic.

“People have lost sight of why they go to the restroom or locker room in the first place, which is to go to the restroom or to change and get ready for work,” she said. “I think there is a lot of fear mongering around these pieces and I just don’t feel that it’s accurate.”

Larue told Herman that people who feel uncomfortable with the change can use one of the YMCA’s private rooms. Herman asked whether fairness is truly being spread around to everyone and that there should be better communication.

FULL STATEMENT

Bob Ecklund, President and CEO of the YMCA of Pierce and Kitsap county, issued the following statement on Oct. 5:

A Message to Our Members and Community

The Y’s mission is to serve everyone, regardless of financial circumstance, faith, ethnicity, sexual orientation, or gender identity. As our community changes, we often find ourselves in the unfamiliar, but remain committed to creating a culture focused on safety and inclusivity.

In April 2015, the YMCA created a policy to demonstrate our commitment to our transgender community. Previously, we had no policies with regard to this community. As a community-based non-profit organization, we are committed to reflecting the diverse communities we serve. We also have a foundational commitment to child abuse prevention.

“80-year-old granny banned from YMCA after demanding biological male leave women's locker room where little girls were undressing”

Port Townsend, Wash. police said she "had an emotional response to a strange male being in the bathroom and helping a young girl take off her bathing suit."

80-year-old granny banned from YMCA after demanding biological male leave women's locker room where little girls were undressing

An 80-year-old Washington state woman has been banned from using her local YMCA's public pool after she expressed discomfort with a biological male in the women’s locker room as young girls were undressing.

She was in the shower when she heard a male voice and peeked out to find a biological male in a women's swimsuit engaging with little girls who were undressing.

The biological male was reportedly with girls from the day camp, overseeing their bathroom activities. Addressing the Port Townsend City Council on Monday, Julie Jaman, a resident of Port Townsend of about 40 years, described the situation she had been in after her regular swim at the Mountain Valley Pool.

"In an effort by the city and the YMCA to apply the neo-cultural gender rules at Mountain View Pool dressing, shower room facilities, women and children are being put at risk," Jaman said.

Jaman said that she had been showering after her July 26 swim at the pool, when she heard "a man’s voice in the women’s dressing area." She said that she saw "a man in a women’s swimsuit, watching little girls pull down their bathing suits in order to use the toilets in the dressing room."

In an email from the YMCA’s Marketing and Communications Manager to The Post Millennial, they said that the staff member was not "engaging" with these girls, but rather escorting them to the dressing room.

According to the Port Townsend Free Press, Jaman, who had been in the shower when she realized what was happening, hidden behind thin, sheer shower curtains, asked this person, revealed to go by the name Clementine Adams, "Do you have a penis?"

"None of your business," Adams reportedly responded.

"Get out of here, right now," Jaman replied.

"You’re discriminating and you can’t use the pool anymore and I’m calling the police," YMCA aquatics manager Rowen DeLuna told Jaman after she requested that Adams leave the room, according to the Port Townsend Free Press.

In an email from the YMCA’s Marketing and Communications Manager, they said that Jaman was not permanently suspended for this incident alone, but rather due to "repeatedly violating the Olympic Peninsula YMCA code of conduct, specifically, using disrespectful words or gestures towards YMCA staff or others; and abusive, harassing and/or obscene language or gestures towards YMCA staff or others."

The manager said that the facility has experiences past issues, but that the incident in the changing room was "unforgivable and extremely harmful."

As Jaman attempted to leave the building, DeLuna reportedly told Jaman that she was not abiding by the YMCA’s principles and values.

Another YMCA staffer reportedly blocked Jaman from leaving, to which Jaman said, "Bullsh*t! I’m going to the police right now. I want help and I need it immediately."

Jaman went next door to the police, and later received a call back from Port Townsend Police Officer Marc Titterness.

In a police call report obtained by the Port Townsend Free Press, Titterness said that Jaman "had an emotional response to a strange male being in the bathroom and helping a young girl take off her bathing suit."

This call report also contained call records made by an anonymous person from the YMCA, who told police that "Clementine was in the bathroom with a child in the day camp and Julie asked if she had a penis and started screaming at her to get out."

In another call, this person said that Jaman had "been asked to leave and is refusing."

Yet another call said that Jaman "was screaming at employee and calling names and refusing to leave."

Jaman had also spoke with Wendy Bart, the CEO of the Olympic Peninsula YMCA, who stood by the actions of her employees.

Bart said that a staff member claimed Jaman said to Adams, "You’re going to stick your fucking penis in those little girls."

According to the Substack "The Distance," Jaman denied ever saying this, noting "I am an 80 year-old woman and I do not talk like that."

"There is no signage informing women the shower room is now all gender and what that means, nor have parents been informed of what they can expect with these new policies," Jaman told the City Council.

Per Washington state law, "All covered entities shall allow individuals the use of gender-segregated facilities, such as restrooms, locker rooms, dressing rooms, and homeless or emergency shelters, that are consistent with that individual's gender expression or gender identity."

"The Y has not provided any dressing, shower room options for women who do not want to be exposed to men who identify as women," Jaman added.

The YMCA manager told The Post Millennial though that within the changing rooms, there are private stalls that close and lock for individuals that would like additional privacy within the changing rooms.

Jaman continued, "The staff seems to have received little professional training on how to handle reactions to such a radical cultural change, particularly for the most vulnerable, older female patrons and children who may be exposed to inappropriate behavior.

The dignity and safety of unsuspecting women who have trusted to use these facilities for many years. This is not right."

In response to her banning, Jaman and supporters have taken to protesting outside of the pool, arguing that that the YMCA has promised the addition of all-gender bathrooms, but that instead, "took over the traditional binary areas."

The following day, on August 2, the YMCA manager told The Post Millennial said that around 60 people had congregated outside the facility, but that a large portion of this group came out in support of the facility’s actions.

"The Y will uphold and respect this law in regards to YMCA staff, members, and program participants that use Mountain View Pool. At the Y, our goal is to provide an atmosphere free from discrimination, hatred, derogatory or unwelcome comments, intimidation, or actions based on an individual’s sex, age, race, ethnicity, religion, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression or any other legally protected status," a press release from the YMCA states.”

Port Townsend YMCA Says "We will not tolerate bias, hatred, or discrimination that leads to the oppression of individuals or communities." Yet they do, seemingly against white elderly presumably strait women who don't want a man in their changing area. Who has more Rights? Why Not Equality?

The Port Townsend YMCA Flat out Lies that they are Inclusive and supportive without discrimination. The YMCA lies that they do not allow "hatred or derogatory or unwelcome comments".

The YMCA claims, "equity and human dignity for all, they clearly did not provide equality in this case."

YMCA NOT FOR ALL.
ONLY FOR THE RIGHTS OF THE FEW

The Port Townsend YMCA Says:

"At the Y, our goal is to provide an atmosphere free from discrimination, hatred, derogatory or unwelcome comments, intimidation, or actions based on an individual’s sex, age, race, ethnicity, religion, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression or any other legally protected status."

Yet the Jefferson County Washington YMCA allows hatred, bullying unwanted comments, violent words, angry aggressive words, against the women who do not want to dress in the same room with a trans woman that has not transitioned.  The YMCA clearly discriminated against one party on their identity, their expression, and their legally protected class.

Is the Woman in this case a protected class for being a woman? elderly? or perhaps she was a victim at some point in her life? Does she have ANY equal rights? NOPE only the Trans community, or trans woman has the rights and the born women who are uncomfortable for any reason, they get abused, bullied, shamed, berated and threatened.

Talk about entitled, hypocrisy and double standards.

the YMCA allows and seems to actively participate in bullying this woman, calling her a bigot, a trans hater and a transphobe just because she does not want a penis carrier in her changing room. And this has the trans community and supporters attacking the women and those of us who support her. This is not #forAll

It is not about being a bigot or a transphobe, it could be any reason that a woman don't want to dress next to a biological male. Maybe a women was abuse, raped, molested, or traumatized. There can be a lot of reasons she don't want to change in the same room. And the number one reason is she does not need a reason.

Yet the Bullies Violently Call out "bigot" "transphobe" and gang stalk her on social media. People stick up for her human rights, her equal rights and these same people are seen on social media attacking anyone that defends her rights. This is no where near Equality.

It is not OK for the Port Townsend YMCA to be inciting violence against this women and anyone who supports her. All you have to do is read a local thread and see the violence put upon this woman, and the YMCA participating, condoning and even thanking the "support".

Port Townsend YMCA SAYS:

The YMCA Says "We will not tolerate bias, hatred, or discrimination that leads to the oppression of individuals or communities." Yet they are tolerating this and encouraging it.

The YMCA is actively joining with many in the trans community to dish out bias, hatred and discrimination that CLEARLY without a doubt is an "

"The Y will uphold and respect this law", which laws and for whom?

They sure seem to pick and choose who gets bullied, berated, defamed, and taunted. They are actively encouraging bullying this woman and anyone who supports her, just go look at the social media on this. Transphobe, Bigot and all manner of names slung, is this Lawful? or part of the YMCA inclusion Policy?

Why "protect" the "rights" of one party only?

Why claim to protect one party from "bad things" while encouraging it upon the other party?

 Port Townsend YMCA Says:

"Thank you to everyone who has come to support the Y today at Mountain View. Your support means more than we can express in words. ❤

As a letter to our community, we'd like to put out the following statement in regards to information circulating about what happened at Mountain View Pool:

The Olympic Peninsula YMCA is an organization that welcomes all people. At the Y, we strive to create communities that are inclusive and socially just so that all people can thrive.

We will not tolerate bias, hatred, or discrimination that leads to the oppression of individuals or communities.

We will ensure sustained and meaningful progress toward equity and human dignity for all.

On Monday, August 1, a small group of community members expressed their concerns regarding the Mountain View Pool changing rooms specifically related to a transgender person.

There was a small gathering of people outside Mountain View Commons discussing this issue.

In addition to the universal changing rooms at the pool, there are a men’s and women’s locker rooms provided with private changing areas as well as showers with curtains at the pool.

The Y operates in accordance with state law that gives people the right to access the locker rooms, changing rooms, and bathrooms that aligns with their gender identity, per WAC 162-32-060.

The law states, “entities shall allow individuals the use of gender-segregated facilities, such as restrooms, locker rooms, dressing rooms, and homeless or emergency shelters, that are consistent with that individual's gender expression or gender identity.”

The Y will uphold and respect this law in regards to YMCA staff, members, and program participants that use Mountain View Pool. At the Y, our goal is to provide an atmosphere free from discrimination, hatred, derogatory or unwelcome comments, intimidation, or actions based on an individual’s sex, age, race, ethnicity, religion, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression or any other legally protected status.

If you have questions about the YMCA’s policies regarding Mountain View Pool, please contact info@olympicpeninsulaymca.org."

YOU HAVE NO SAY. YOU WILL SIT DOWN AND SHUT UP.

IF A PENIS CARRYING INDIVIDUAL WANTS TO CHANGE NEXT TO YOU OR WATCH YOU CHANGE AND YOU FEEL UNSAFE FOR ANY REASON, YOU HAVE NO RIGHT TO FEEL UNSAFE.

YOUR RIGHTS DO NOT MATTER. THEIR RIGHTS MATTER, PERIOD.

THE MAN IDENTIFYING AS A WOMEN MAY BE UNCOMFORTABLE OR FEEL UNSAFE AND THE WOMAN UNCOMFORTABLE WITH THE PENIS CARRIER IS THROWN OUT, BANNED, LABELED HORRIBLE NAMES. ALL BECAUSE SHE DID NOT WANT TO CHANGE NEXT TO A PENIS FOR HER OWN PERSONAL REASONS.

To Me this is NOT Equality, this is rape culture, abuse and the epitome of the Patriarch. It is FORCE. Men have more rights, period and women best had shut up or be left out, ridiculed, taunted, abused, banned, gas lighted and called crazy and all manner of evil names, back to the dark ages. Women have no rights. All because they want to feel safe and not be naked with a man part present.

The man identifying as a woman simply has more rights then the woman, period, and there is nothing that us women can do or say. If we feel unsafe, we have no where to turn, no rights, we simply must not participate in their society, their rules.

Just as rape victims, molestations victims, we must simply stay silent on the matter, our rights have No Value. It is a TransMans world period. This is Not Equality. This is not kindness nor inclusive, this is abuse period.

This is NOT all inclusive. This is NOT a Safe Space for ALL. You have no rights at the YMCA, you will do as they say period.
